Important message from Kiltwalk
Scotland's Kiltwalk will not run in October
Scotland is loving coming together again at Kiltwalk
Due to the popular demand of our 2022 physical Kiltwalks in Glasgow and Aberdeen and the extremely low up take for our Virtual event we have decided not to run Scotland’s Virtual Kiltwalk in October; however worry not if you were due to take part – you have options!
All Virtual fundraising to date will be eligible for the 50% top up* and will be paid to charities in the coming days. In addition, those who’ve signed-up for the Virtual can have their registration transferred to Dundee or Edinburgh at no cost. Registered Virtual Kiltwalkers will also be eligible for a full refund without the top up*.
The Virtual option was created to help hard pressed charities during lockdown but the good news is with 10,000 Kiltwalkers in Glasgow in April raising £2.7mil and 2,300 Aberdeen Kiltwalkers grossing £620,000 in May, our focus is now on delivering for Scotland’s charities at our two remaining physical events this year; in Dundee on August 21 and Edinburgh on September 18. If you haven't yet signed up, please join us!
We're sorry if you are inconvenienced by this but the great news is that the Kiltwalk experience is well and truly back and thriving! What an exciting position to be in after a long wait for physical Kiltwalks to return!
If you were registered for Scotland’s Virtual Kiltwalk, please check your email inbox for an email outlining your options. We kindly ask that all registered Kiltwalkers complete the ‘Virtual Options’ form by Monday July 18 to inform us of their preferences. If you have not yet received your email, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
*The Fundraising top up for this current year 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2022 is 50% of the funds raised by any individual participant subject to a maximum top-up of £5000 per walker or donor. This is a cumulative limit per participant for Events in the above period. Donations received directly from a charity or a corporate entity (including match funding) are not eligible for the top-up. All fundraising top ups are subject to deadlines and The Charity’s approval.
