THREE lucky Kiltwalkers won brand new cars

Three walkers who took on the biggest-ever Royal Bank of Scotland Kiltwalk in Glasgow are celebrating after they each won a brand-new car, thanks to our Headline Sponsors Arnold Clark.

Catherine Haldane from Parkhouse, Andy Stott from Dumbarton and Nadia Ucci from Largs, who took part in the 26-mile Mighty Stride and 15-mile Big Stroll events, walked alongside 13,000 Kiltwalk Heroes, raising £3.5 million for their chosen charities.

They were chosen at random by Arnold Clark, who handed over a Kia Rio to each winner at their head office in Hillington.

Catherine completed the Big Stroll for Princess Royal Maternity & Neonatal Unit, as a thank you to the staff who looked after her prematurely-born daughter, who was delivered at 26 weeks. Andy also took part in the Big Stroll, raising funds for Cash for Kids and Nadia took on the Mighty Stride for Ardgowan Hospice in Gourock, raising funds in memory of a colleague.

Eddie Hawthorne, Chief Executive and Group Managing Director at Arnold Clark, said: “We always want do our bit to encourage people to take part in this great event.

“We're thrilled to be supporting the Kiltwalk for yet another year and we're even happier to be able to supply three lucky winners with a fantastic Kia Rio.”

Kiltwalk CEO, Paul Cooney, said: “We are so proud of Glasgow’s Kiltwalkers each year, who take part in their masses, raising money for charitable causes close to their hearts. We are very thankful to our platinum sponsor, Arnold Clark, who blow us away every year with their incredible generosity, and to each walker who chooses to pull on their walking boots and take part.”
