LOVE POURS IN FROM THE GLASGOW KILTWALK COMMUNITY

Kiltwalkers, Kilties, Charities and Sponsors send heartfelt messages to mark the original date of what would have been the world’s biggest ever Kiltwalk, the Glasgow Kiltwalk

Today we should have been together, clad in tartan and raising money for more than 700 charities and causes we care about. The pandemic has changed every aspect of our lives but one thing remains – our great sense of community and generosity.

Although the Glasgow Kiltwalk had to be postponed with a date to be set as soon as possible, Glasgow Kiltwalkers continued to raise funds to the tune of £735,000. With charities needing our support more than ever, it was decided that all funds would be paid out early on 1st April. Then in an unprecedented move, Sir Tom Hunter raised his generous 50% top up to 100%, matching all donations pound for pound. Finally within 24 of the fundraising deadline, 540 charities received an astonishing £1.47 million.

Across Kiltwalk social channels today, there has been an outpouring of positivity and good wishes from the Kiltwalk community. To see all the special content produced for the day, check out our Facebook and Twitter pages.

ALL FUNDRAISING GOES TO THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE
